Lomin Inc. (CEO Kang Ji-hong), a startup specializing in AI-based video content analysis solutions, announced that it had won 1st place in the character recognition category of the '2019 AI Grand Challenge,' hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT. Lomin will receive a cash prize of 3 million won and 1.2 billion won in follow-up research funding over two years for this achievement. In 2018, Lomin also won 2nd place in the 'AI R&D Challenge - Finding Synthetic Photos,' making this the second consecutive year that the company has received the Minister of Science and ICT Award.
